How to Use

  1. Fill in Your details (name, phone, email, city, LinkedIn). Press Load example first if you want to see a finished resume, then type over it.
  2. Add your work experience and education, one point per line under each job. Use Add job or Add education for more entries, and the arrow buttons to change their order.
  3. List your skills separated by commas. Projects, certifications, a photo and the personal details block are optional; the personal block stays off unless you switch it on.
  4. Choose a template (Classic, Modern or Compact) and check the live preview. On a phone, tap Preview. Fix anything listed under “Check before you send”.
  5. Tap Download PDF, Copy as text or Text file. Your draft is saved in this browser as you type; Clear all removes it.

A free resume builder that works in your browser

This resume builder makes a clean A4 resume (CV) as a PDF with real, selectable text. You fill in a form, watch the preview change, and download. There's no sign-up and no watermark, and nothing you type is sent anywhere: the draft is kept only in your own browser so you can come back to it later.

It is set up for Indian job seekers. Scores can be a percentage or CGPA, there's an optional block for date of birth, nationality and marital status, and you can add the declaration line that many Indian resumes end with. All of these are off until you switch them on.

The order recruiters expect

Freshers should put education before experience, since their degree and projects are the strongest part. Switch “Section order” to Education first and the builder moves it up for you.

Fresher or experienced: what to include

SectionFresher3+ years of work
Length1 page1 to 2 pages
EducationDegree, Class XII and Class X with scoresDegree (and post-graduation); school marks can go

Write points that show results

Recruiters skim. Each point should start with a verb and, where possible, carry a number. Compare these two lines from an accounts resume:

Weak: Responsible for GST work.
Better: Filed GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for 40 clients every month, with no late fees in 2025-26.

The second line tells the reader what you did, how much of it, and how well. Type one point per line in the “What you did” box; the builder adds the bullet marks.

Getting past ATS software

Many large employers and job portals pass resumes through an applicant tracking system (ATS) before a person reads them. The software reads the text and looks for the skills and job titles in the job advert. A few habits help:

  • Use the Classic template for online applications. It's a single column with standard headings, which ATS software reads in the right order.
  • Copy the exact skill names from the advert (“Tally Prime”, “Power BI”, “GST returns”) into your skills list.
  • Upload the PDF made here, not a photo or scan of a printed resume. This PDF has real text that software can read.
  • Keep dates in one format (Jul 2023 – Present). The builder tidies “07/2023” and “2023-07” into that form.

The Modern template looks good when you email a resume to a person, but its side column can confuse older ATS systems. When in doubt, send Classic.

Photo and personal details

A photo is optional. Some Indian employers, especially in sales, hospitality and front-office roles, like to see one. Most MNCs and employers abroad prefer resumes without a photo, so leave it out for those. If you add one, use a plain passport-style picture; the builder crops it to 4:5.

Date of birth, gender and marital status don't help you get shortlisted for most private jobs. Add them only if the employer asks.

Never put your Aadhaar number, PAN, bank account or passport number on a resume. Resumes get forwarded, uploaded to portals and stored for years. Employers collect these documents after an offer, for salary, PF and tax. The builder warns you if something in your resume looks like an Aadhaar number or PAN.

Before you send it

  • Use a professional email address, ideally your name at Gmail or Outlook.
  • Save the file with your name: the builder names it like Priya-Sharma-Resume.pdf.
  • Use Copy as text when a portal asks you to paste your resume into a box.
  • Read it once on your phone. If a line looks crowded there, it will look crowded to a recruiter too.

One page for freshers and people with a year or two of work. Two pages is fine once you have several years of relevant experience. If yours runs longer, cut older jobs to one or two points, drop school marks, and try the Compact template.

It's optional. Some Indian employers, especially in sales, hospitality and front-office roles, like to see one, but most MNCs and employers abroad prefer resumes without a photo. If you add one, use a plain, passport-style picture.

Yes. The PDF contains real text, not an image, so applicant tracking systems can read it. For online applications, choose the Classic template: a single column with standard headings is the easiest layout for ATS software to read in the right order.

Date of birth is optional and most private employers don't need it. Never add your Aadhaar number, PAN or bank details: resumes get forwarded and stored widely, and employers collect these documents after they make an offer.
