Turn PDF pages into JPG or PNG images

PDF to Image converts the pages of a PDF into pictures, one image per page. It helps when a form or portal accepts only JPG, when you want to send a single page on WhatsApp, or when you need a page as an image for slides or a social media post. The pages are drawn in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Choosing the quality

Quality sets the resolution in dots per inch (dpi). PDF pages are measured in points, 72 to the inch, so an A4 page comes out at these sizes:

QualityResolutionA4 page in pixelsGood for
Screen72 dpi595 × 841WhatsApp, a quick look on a phone
Sharp150 dpi1240 × 1753Reading text on screen, documents and slides
Print300 dpi2480 × 3507Printing, or zooming in on small print and signatures

Doubling the dpi doubles both the width and the height, so each step up holds about four times as many pixels and the files get bigger. Sharp is the right choice for most jobs.

JPG or PNG?

JPG files are smaller and accepted almost everywhere, including exam and government portals that ask for a JPG or JPEG. Pages are saved at 90% JPEG quality, which keeps text clean. PNG doesn't lose any detail, so text and thin lines are a little crisper, but the files are larger. Use PNG for a page that's mostly text or a diagram, and JPG for scans and photos. Both formats get a plain white background.

Tips

  • Need only one page, like the first page of an admit card or a fee receipt? Tap Choose pages and type its number instead of converting the whole file.
  • If a portal wants an image under a size such as 200 KB, start with Sharp and JPG. Still too big? Try Screen, or shrink the Sharp image with an image compressor.
  • Password-protected PDFs work. Type the password when the tool asks; it's used only on your device to open the file.
  • Images are named after the PDF and page number, like statement-page-3.jpg. With several pages you can download them all as one ZIP, or tap a preview to save just that page.
  • Very large pages, such as A3 sheets or engineering drawings at Print quality, are drawn at a lower resolution so the browser doesn't run out of memory. The tool tells you when this happens.
  • A long PDF at Print quality can take a while on a phone. You can stop the conversion at any time.

No. The pages are drawn as images inside your browser and saved on your device. The PDF is never uploaded or stored.

Yes. Type the password in the box that appears. For e-Aadhaar it's the first four letters of your name in capital letters followed by your year of birth, for example RAME1990.

Because PNG keeps every pixel exactly, while JPG compresses the image a little. For most documents and portals, JPG at Sharp quality is clear enough and much smaller.

Yes. On a phone, Sharp is a good choice. Print quality on a long PDF takes longer and uses more memory, so convert only the pages you need.
