How to Use
- Type or paste your text into Your text, or tap Try a sample answer. Blank lines between paragraphs are kept.
- Choose a Handwriting font and the Ink: blue, black or red pen, or a custom colour.
- Adjust Letter size, Line spacing and Letter spacing. Use Messy letters and Wavy lines to make it look less perfect, and the shuffle button for another random look.
- Pick the Paper (ruled, plain cream or blank white), the Page margins, and whether you want a Red margin line, Page numbers, and a Name on top and Roll no. at the top of each page.
- Check the preview and the page count, then tap Download PDF for one file, or Download PNG for an image. With several pages that button reads PNG pages (zip) and gives you a zip.
Turn typed text into handwritten-looking pages
This text to handwriting converter writes your text onto A4 pages in a handwriting font, with ruled lines, a red margin and pen-coloured ink, so it looks like a page from a notebook. It's useful for mock-ups, posters, greeting cards, a note to stick on a project file, or for seeing how much of a page an answer will fill before you write it by hand. Everything is drawn in your browser: your text is not uploaded, and the PDF or images are made on your phone or computer.
How it makes text look handwritten
A handwriting font on its own still looks typed, because every “a” is identical and every line is perfectly straight. The tool draws each letter separately and moves it a tiny, random amount:
- Messy letters nudges each letter up, down or sideways by a fraction of a millimetre, tilts it slightly and varies the ink darkness a little.
- Wavy lines gives each line a gentle wave and a slight slope, the way a real line drifts across a page.
- The randomness is seeded from your text, so the preview doesn't jump about every time you change a setting. The shuffle button gives a different look for the same text.
Set both sliders to 0 for neat, perfectly aligned text, or push them up for a hurried look.
The five handwriting fonts
| Font | Looks like | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Caveat | Quick, slightly joined handwriting | Notes and long answers |
| Homemade Apple | Flowing cursive | Letters and cards |
| Indie Flower | Rounded, friendly print | School projects and posters |
| Patrick Hand | Neat, clear print | Anything that must be easy to read |
| Shadows Into Light | Light, narrow handwriting | Fitting more words on a page |
All five are open-source Google Fonts served from this site, so nothing is fetched from Google. They contain English letters, numbers and common punctuation only. Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil and other Indian scripts fall back to a plain system font and won't look handwritten.
Page size and how much fits
Pages are A4 (210 × 297 mm), drawn at 150 dots per inch, which is 1240 × 1754 pixels. That prints sharply on A4 paper without making the PDF huge. With the default settings (letter size 38, line spacing 1.3, 15 mm margins) a ruled page has 29 lines. In our tests with ordinary English prose that was about 350 words in Caveat, from about 280 in Indie Flower to about 440 in Shadows Into Light. A bigger letter size or wider line spacing means fewer words per page; the page count above the preview updates as you change them.
Long texts are split into pages automatically, and words too long for a line are broken across lines. When you download, the pages are drawn one at a time so the page doesn't freeze, with a progress message. Up to 100 pages are made at once.
Tips for a realistic page
- Blue ink on ruled paper with the red margin line looks most like an Indian school notebook.
- Keep “Messy letters” between 2 and 5. Higher values can look like the letters are dancing.
- Add your name and roll number in the header fields; they appear on the first line of every page.
- Print the PDF at “Actual size” or 100% so the lines and margins come out at the right size.
- Check your institution's rules before submitting anything made with this tool where handwritten work is required. Handwriting fonts are easy for a teacher to recognise.
