Encashing a Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) certificate at maturity is the part every investor waits for. You've waited years for the money to double, and now you collect it.
The process is short. You need to:
- Take your KVP certificate or passbook (since 2016 KVP has been issued in electronic or passbook form, not as paper certificates), a copy of one identity proof, and the closure application form.
- Go to the post office or bank where your KVP is held. Hand over the documents, and you'll be paid the full maturity amount, usually into your savings account.
If you've lost your Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) certificate or passbook, you first have to get a duplicate from the post office or bank where it is held. Give the amount, the certificate or account number and the date of deposit, and explain how it was lost. If it was stolen, you may be asked for a copy of the police complaint (FIR).
